这是在新东方学到的单词记忆的方法。
市面上流行的背单词的方法很多,比如”词根词缀”、”联想记忆”、”谐音记忆”等,但是,从本质上说,这些方法适合”授课”,但是不适合”使用”,因此也不具备通用性。从记忆行为本身来看,”自然记忆”和”机械记忆”是两种主要的记忆方式。在日常生活中,人们的记忆行为通常表现为”自然记忆”,并且自然记忆的效果是非常好的。但是,在学习过程中,大多数人却不由自主地选择和使用了效果并不好的”机械记忆”(实际上很多人也不知道为什么要选择这种方式,只不过所有人都这样做,自己也就这样做了)。于是,上述流行的记忆方法应运而生,其目的是为了补充机械记忆的不足。
自然记忆并不是不可以实现的。考虑一下自然记忆的特点,无非是如下两点:一是自然记忆没有显性的记忆过程,也就是说,我们在记忆过程中不会专门做”背”这个动作,这一点显然和”背”单词的做法是相矛盾的。日常生活中很多例子可以体现自然记忆的这种特征。比如,我们记忆一个人的长相的时候,就从来没有专门”背”过;我们记住自己家住在什么地方的时候,也从来没有”背”过。二是自然记忆的结果不容易丧失。在我们所记住的东西中,凡是难以忘记的,几乎都是自然记忆的结果,比如小时候发生的若干事情,平时看过的电视剧情节,父母曾经跟我们说过的话等。相反,机械记忆的结果是很容易丢失的,比如我们经常忘记刻意记过的某条路怎么走,我们也经常忘记专门背诵的某些课文或者诗歌,无论它们是用中文写的还是英文写的。按照这样的特征,我们只需要在单词记忆过程中也尽量模拟非显性记忆过程就可以了。

发音的东西,如果不是要专门的做语音方面的研究,实在的内容其实不是很多。不就是那么不到30个音标,那么几十条发音规则,还有语调啦,重音啦什么的。比起语法,词汇其他方面其实少得多,所以大家应该非常有信心和能力学好的。
可是不是很多人说:“我的英语自己说自己明白,朋友却会问:‘什么?’我重复一次,他倒是明白了,说给外国人听,我无论说多少次他都不明白,连比带划,他终于明白了,不过好像他听得比我说得还辛苦。”初学英语时,这种情况是正常的,你不能一下子就说得地道,小孩子咿呀学语,也不是一下子就准确的啦。可是等到你学了几年英语,语音还不过关,这就有点说不过去了,发音的内容真的不多呀,什么地方出错了?
准确发音的好处
最重要的好处莫过于别人能听懂你说什么啦,这个大家都明白,这里不赘言了。
至少李阳也强调了发音的重要性。他说发音没问题,听力自然也没问题。相信大家已经耳熟能详了。而我自己却不是很敢同意他的观点。发音正确的确对听力帮助甚巨,但是单单靠发音听力就过关的话,未免把问题看得简单了。这是属于听力的问题,这里先搁下,迟点我会专门谈这个问题。
